I promise it is very pleasant here
Hello, I am Donnisk, a college student currently studying IT. I have many hobbies and things I enjoy, even though such things shouldn't be the cornerstone of my identity, they are these things:
Fundamental Paper Education
Operating Systems and software
Hardware, especially modding
Anime
Programming
Hiking
I hope that gives you a great picture of what kind of person I am.You can find a list of projects I am working on here:
fed - a file manager with an ed-like interface
soon to come
I am a very philosophically alligned person when it comes to how I do my computing. I have a few foundational beliefs, and they are these:
1. One must strive to 100% software freedom, for the preservation of their independence, freedom and to avoid unethical proprietary software.
2. One should use the most minimalist alternatives to everything, through simplicity comes elegance.
3. You do not need the latest hardware, a ThinkPad T400 will cover most use-cases that aren't gaming related, and you shouldn't be gaming anyway.
4. The modern software landscape is the antithesis to making computers usable.
I am not going to be an apologist for my philosophical viewpoints, but I strongly encourage you to follow them to the best of your ability. You can view a list of unethical software here
